Flickr is hiring

It was only a couple of months ago that I first learned about the unique ways tech companies sometimes recruit employees. I read a story on Habr about a programmer who searched Google with a snippet of code to find information about it. To his surprise, the search engine not only gave him the usual results but also presented an invitation to interview with Google!

I don’t know if he took the opportunity, but you have to admit—the recruitment method is unconventional, kudos to the HR team! 😉

Yesterday, I saw a similar example on Flickr with my own eyes. I store photos there (Flickr provides a whole TERABYTE for users!), and I often pull them from there to my blog. I copy the image link and paste it into the admin panel, avoiding the need to upload the picture directly. To get the image link, I have to look into the element or page’s source code.

Check out what I found in the code 😉

The caption below the logo says, “You’re reading. We’re hiring,” with a link to https://flickr.com/jobs/

Ingenious! I should add something into the code too—just in case someone decides to take a look… 🙂
