I won’t go into detail about what this error is, what causes it, etc. In short – 0xC00d36E5 prevents you from watching videos (in my case – in mp4 format) on your computer. In addition, it interferes with uploading videos, for example to Vimeo. More precisely, the upload works, but playback doesn’t – because Vimeo reports an “invalid file”.
You might say that the reason why Vimeo rejects the file could be something else. OK. But I solved the problem with video playback on my laptop and its proper upload to Vimeo using the method described below.
You need to go here: http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm, download the K-Lite Codec Pack Standard and install it on your computer.
By the way, here’s the result of solving the problem. As soon as I installed K-Lite Codec, I easily uploaded this to Vimeo. Beautiful new villas in Paphos.
