A real tourist village in the Troodos mountain range.

Beautiful and cozy.

If you drive from Paphos, it takes about an hour, around 60 km along Cyprus’ charming roads towards the mountains.
On weekends, it gets crowded, with all cafes and shops full of tourists, so it’s better to visit Omodos on weekdays.

Local winery. Free tastings, a beautiful historic setting. Omodos is famous for its wine. If you don’t drink alcohol, try the local carob syrup – you can also buy it as a healthy souvenir.

Omodos has plenty of cafes, restaurants, small shops, and boutiques.
The main Orthodox cultural and historical landmark of Cyprus here is the Monastery of the Holy Cross. I’ll post photos later. Wikipedia says that this monastery, under the Limassol Metropolis of the Church of Cyprus, is no longer active.
Listen to how beautifully the priest sings.
Religious chants have their own special beauty, and I say this AS A NON-RELIGIOUS person. Just listen for a few seconds to how beautifully the muezzin sings in Luxor (Egypt).

Simply stunning.
Right?

Yes.
To fully enjoy your stay in Omodos, consider booking a room in one of the cozy local hotels and staying overnight.

For us, Omodos has become one of the must-visit attractions in Cyprus that we take our guests to or simply recommend. If you’re looking for something more modern and less traditional, how about the Historic and Classic Car Museum in Limassol?
